# Guy East Obituary: A Tribute to a Man of Many Talents and Faith
Guy East was a man who lived a life of excellence, integrity, and service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was also a successful builder, author, innovator, entrepreneur, coach, volunteer, and Christ-follower. He passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2022, at the age of 63.
## A Loving Family Man
Guy East was born on December 9, 1959, in Redwood City, California, to James and Allegra East. He had three siblings and three step-siblings. He graduated from North Central High School in 1978 and married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Palmer. They had five beautiful children: Guy Eldon, James Davidson, Andrew Dean, Christine Grace, and Grant Madison. He also had eight grandchildren (and counting).
Guy East loved his family deeply and was always there for them. He was a supportive and encouraging father and grandfather who taught his children and grandchildren many valuable lessons. He was also a faithful and loving husband who cherished his wife of nearly 40 years.

## A Successful Builder and Innovator
Guy East had a passion for building and engineering. He studied at Purdue University, where he played football and received degrees in Building Construction Management and Architectural Engineering. He also earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Guy East built hundreds of homes around the world and had a deep passion to bless those for whom he built. He served as the President of the Board of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis and received several certifications, including Master Builder. He built Indiana’s first LEED certified home and was in the process of developing a construction management software.
Guy East was also an author and innovator who wrote a daily devotional book called BLUEPRINTS-The Plan of the Day from the Master Builder. He also founded Team Clydesdale, a group that promoted camaraderie and competition among large athletes.
## A Devout Christ-Follower and Servant
Guy East loved the Lord and was dedicated to the scriptures. He lived a life of integrity and did everything in his power to help others do the same. He was a member of Truth at Work, Men’s Bible Study, Sigma Chi, Indiana Beekeepers, and Toastmasters. He also volunteered as a scoutmaster, coach, and mentor.
Guy East had a favorite verse from Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” He lived by this verse and inspired others to do so as well.
## A Legacy That Lives On
Guy East left behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and service that will live on in his family, friends, colleagues, and community. He touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, wisdom, and faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
